What is Lilies Among Thorns about?
Lilies Among Thorns is a Christian teen girl magazine designed to help girls be a lily among the thorns of life. Songs 2:1-2 says, "I am the Rose of Sharon and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters." Luke 12:27 says, "Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." These two verses are saying that we are the lilies, whom God loves. Lilies grow. They don't toil or spin. They don't get choked by the thorns. They grow in times of trouble. That is what Lilies Among Thorns is committed too. We are committed to helping girls who thrive to be closer to God and to withstand hardships and trials.
What does LAT believe?
1) God was, is, and always will be (Rev. 1:8). He is the Creator of all things (Col. 1:16-17). God is also the author of the true, living Word, the Holy Bible (2 Tim. 3:16).
2) That Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Mark1:11, Luke 1:35). He was born of the virgin Mary (Luke 2), lived among men (John 1:10, 14, 34), ministered to the people, and lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:21-22). Jesus Christ died on the cross to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (John 3:16). Three days later, Jesus Christ rose from the grave (Matt. 28:1-6). He conquered sin and death (Rev. 1:8), and has offered the gift of eternal life in heaven with Him, for those who ask for it (1 John 1:9, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, Romans 6:15-16, Romans 5:20-21). We believe that once you are saved, you are always saved (Romans 6:10, Hebrews 10:10, Hebrews 6:4-6). You cannot lose your salvation even if you go astray (Hebrews 6:4-6).
3) That we (believers) will one day live in heaven for all of eternity. Jesus is coming back one day (rapture) to take the saved to Heaven and to judge the world (I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelations 11:18).
We are given eternal life when we accept Jesus as our Savior from death and hell and sin (John 3:36).The only way to be given eternal life is by admitting that you are a sinner (Romans 3:32), believe that Jesus Christ was the perfect and ultimate sacrifice and paid for your sins by dying on the cross (Romans 6:23), and ask Jesus to come into your heart and to save you (personally) from the punishment of sin (which is death).
