The Avengers~ Movie Review by Kari Willinger

It all started with The Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Captain American, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. When brought together they form, the Avengers. Each superhero is different, they each have a past they need to get through, but can they do it in enough time to save Earth from Loki and his army? When Nick Fury of S.H.E.I.L.D. brings these superheros together he puts a lot of faith in their ability, but others dont hold that same faith. So, battling an army and people trying to stop them from doing anything has to be tough, right?

The Avengers was very good. One of the best movies i've seen in a long time. It was funny, action packed, and just all around good. The movie was rated Pg-13. There are some tight fitted outfits and we see a mans chest. There is 1 use of A**, 1 use of B****, and a couple uses of D***. I loved this movie and without the cussing I it would be amazing! Thank the Lord for TV Guardians rights?

The Hunger Games~ Movie Review by Kari Willinger

When I read the Hunger Games series I couldnt wait til the movie came out and when it did I went to the midnight premiere. The first book was amazing as was the movie. I loved it and I hope you will too.
There are 12 districts and 1 capitol. There is 1 president. There is the Hunger Games. A pageant where, by law, 1 boy tribute and 1 girl tribute from every district, in between the ages of 12-18m, is sent into an arena, to fight to the death. This will be watched by the all districts and the Capitol. This happens every year and this year everything will change. Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is the girl tribute from district 12. There are 24 tributes and only one comes out. Can she become who everyone wants her to be and in the end win the Games? Can she leave her mark on districts and give them hope for a better future?
This was rated PG-13. There is three uses of d*** and two uses of h***. There is no sex or nudity just bare legs and you see a man wearing only tight fitting shorts in a video. This movie has alot of violence, the only thing to really worry about if you do not like violence. I give this movie a 4/5.

Joyful Noise and Sherlock Holmes

Joyful Noise

In the town of Pacashau, Georgia, things are not going too well. Shops are closing, folks are lining up at soup kitchens, and the town is in financial debt. In crisis, the town is used to turning to the local church, but the church is having problems of their own. The choir is one of the greatest in the region, but in contests they always come in second to a Detroit choir. Normally, this is not a big deal because singing is not about winning, but about praising the Lord. This year, however, the Pacashau choir has to win. If they don't, there will be no more choir. And those aren't the only problems the small Georgia town has to deal with.

This movie was really good. It discussed a lot of issues, though sometimes I wish it would discuss them without the instruction.

This movie was rated PG-13. Throughout the movie there are references to a scene in which it is implied that a boyfriend and girlfriend have sex and the boyfriend dies. There are some sexual references and kissing. There are a few uses of the words b****, a**, d***, and h***, and God's name is misused a few times. I give this movie a 3.9/5.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

I could give you a lengthy description of what happens in this movie but I think I will give you a little rundown and let you watch it for yourself, because when I say this movie was good, I mean it was GOOD. Sherlock Holmes is at it again. This movie is full of conspiracy theories, disguises, and lots of humor. Sherlock believes that terrorist bombings and the almost-war that follows in their wake, are all because of one man. Sherlock takes us on an amazing adventure to prove his theory and bring one mastermind to justice.

Seriously, this was a great movie. You're going to have to watch it to find out what happens but trust me, it is definitely worth it.

This film was rated PG-13. There is some kissing. Watson has his shirt off in one scene. You see a fat guy's torso and backside. There is one use of d***, b***ard, and h***bent. I give this a 4.8/5.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and Real Steel

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

9/11 was a horrible time for America. Everyone felt the shock and terror that followed such a disaster. Not everyone lost a parent or loved one in the attack. Some only heard about it and were never that involved. But Oskar Schell was not one of them. He lost his best friend in that attack; the one person he could count on the most. He lost his father.

Before 9/11, Oskar's father Thomas would give him clues and mysteries and then send him into New York and find the answers. Oskar was a smart kid, a pacifist, a martial artist, and a naturalist. He was also scared. He would rather stay in a little bubble rather than get involved in the world. So Thomas gave him hints and mysteries in to help him get involved. Doctors told Thomas that Oskar might have a certain syndrome that made him incapable of being around and involved with people. Thomas refused to believe this and worked even harder to help his son. On the day that he died in the attack, the only things Thomas left for Oskar were his jacket, six voicemails that Oskar listened to over and over again, and an old camera. A year later Oskar finally decides to venture into his father's closet. While basking in the memory of his father, Oskar tries to reach the top shelf in order to retrieve the camera. Unexpectedly, Oskar discovers a new mystery among the glass. Watch as the story unfolds and the mysteries are solved in "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close."

This movie was rated PG-13. There is no sex/nudity in this film. There are a couple uses of God's name in vain. There is one s**t, one a**, and once Oskar and his doorman exchange in wordplay that almost turns into F-words. Overall this movie was very interesting and I would definitely recommend it. I give it a 3.5/5.

Real Steel

Real Steel is set in the future, 2020 to be exact, in a time when boxing has been banned. In place of the flesh and blood of normal boxing are robots. This gives a new hype and excitement to boxing, but also leaves some people hanging - people like Charlie Kenton. All Charlie has left is an old Mech Robot to hold onto - the only remembrance of his old life. When his Mech is destroyed, however, even that little piece is taken away. Charlie then learns that his ex-girlfriend passed away, leaving their son Max in Charlie's care. Charlie and Max must team up to… What happens?

This movie was really good to me and I believe you will like it.

This film was rated PG-13. There is one brief kiss. Many of the men have their shirts off during some scenes and the woman wear low-cut tops and tight skirts. The cussing is a little too much for my tastes, but with a TV Guardian, it's really good. There are two uses of s**t, five d***, h***, and a**, and we hear OMG a couple times. I give this movie a 3/5.

We Bought a Zoo~ Kari Willinger

When Benjamin Mee (Matt Damon) loses his wife everything goes haywire. His son Dylan starts dropping in his studies, starts stealing, and starts drawing dark images of decapitation and the likes. His 7 year old daughter, after 6 months, is a little better mostly likely because of her age. Deciding his family needs a new start, he quits his job, and buys a house with his savings and inheritance. But there is a catch. Thought he house seems perfect, with 18 acres for the kids Benjamin has to take care of some animals. 200 to be exact. because in the backyard of this house there is a zoo. How crazy right? A zoo in there back yard. With the help of this motley zoo crew lead by Kelly (Scarlet Johanssen) Benjamin strives to accept this new responsibility. Will his family be able to really start over? Watch this extremely adorable movie and you will see.
This movie was rated PG. There is some cussing in this movie, it includes: d***, a**, and h*** a couple of times. There is some kissing in this movie. There is also a picture of a topless pregnant lady with her arm strategically hiding her breasts. I give this movie a 4/5.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

If you haven't seen the Mission Impossible series I HIGHLY recommend them. I absolutely love this series. It's action packed with a little romance here and a little saving the world there. It's a mix between James Bond and the Bourne series to me. This new Mission Impossible was just as great as the others if not better.
Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) accepts another mission in order to stop the world from being destroyed. Him along with a team of three others accept this dangerous mission and risk their lives doing so. Along with the dangerous acts that await them there are also secrets being kept from each other. Secrets that can change a lot. Can they get past these secrets in order to stop the bad guys? Can they accomplish their mission? Watch this highly anticipated and action pack sequel with new twist and turns along the way. When Ethan Hunt accepts his mission and starts of on this mission though it seems impossible, many bad things happen. They get found attempting to break into the Kremlin a greatly guarded building in Russia. This ignites Ghost Protocol where Ethan and his team are threatened to be blamed for the entire thing by the U.S. Despite this act, Ethan and his team get away from the Russians and the Americans but they still have to stop a Nuclear Weapon from being used. A nuclear weapon that only they can stop. Do they succeed? Watch and find out.

Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is rated PG-13. This movie is very clean with little cursing. There was 1 s*** and 3 or 4 muttered d***s, and one guy raises his middle finger to another guy. Two agents kiss, it lasts like 10 seconds. There is low cut tops and some high cut skirts. I rate this a 4.8/5.

Christmas Movie Character Costumes~ Kari Willinger

I can't believe Christmas time is already here! I am so happy, I love Christmas! So, since I love Christmas so much I thought I would give yall something fun to do. The thing I thought would be fun is dressing up as your favorite Christmas characters. Some of my favorite Characters are Cindy Lou Who from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Mary, Mrs. Claus, Grinch (yes I know hes a guy but hey you can dress up like him too), Sally from A Nightmare before Christmas, An Angel, and of course a cute little reindeer ;)
Cindy Lou Who
For Cindy Lou Who I dont think its really that complicated. First, if you have bangs like she does then this would be the perfect costume for you. The first thing you would need to do is get a cup, yes a cup, but only a small one like what maybe a little kid would use. Then you want to put this on your head and pull all of your hair up arould it and tie it at the top. This will make your hair stand up the interesting way it does in the movie. Then you can curl the ends for added effect. Next you want to buy two fake braids the color of your hair and pint them to the side of your head and drag the ends up and clip them to right under the edge of the cup and curl those ends. If you do this you should have made a fairly cute Cindy Lou Who hair style. The clothes are even easier all you need is a red cape with white fur in the hood, a christmassy dress, and red and green tights. This will make you the cutiest Cindy Lou Who.

Mrs. Claus

Mrs. Claus is a classic Female Christmas character. To dress up like Mrs. Claus should be easy if you have red and white clothes in your closet. First find a red dress, skirt or suit. Then take a white blouse (the more frillier the better). If you have any kind of black boots they will work but lace up ankle boots would be perfect. If you have a white frilly apron this will make the outfit very authentic and you can sew a cute phrase on it like "My heart belongs to santa" . The last thing you will need is a white wig or a powder to color your hair and put it in a bun. After you do all of this you are ready to go. Of course you can always add a red cape or black leather gloves and that would always be really cute but you dont have to have those.

Sally

For Sally all you need to do is get a dress you dont really care about and a bunch of different kinds of patterns and fabrics. Then you just sew the fabrics all of the dress to create Sallys dress in the movie. Then put some kind of bluish-white make up in your face and use eyeliner to draw stitches all across your body. The orange hair you can either use a semi permanent dye or just buy a wig.

Reindeer

Now everyone needs a reindeer, but heres how to make a cute little reindeer ;). Get an antler headband, preferably with jingle bells on it, and put your hair in two high buns. The Buns can look a little like their ears haha. Then you can get a cute tail and just pin it to the back of some brown shorts. Wear a brown shirt or sweater with black gloves and boots to represent the hooves. After that your done. I think this has to be one of the easiest and cutest outfits. Of course, feel free to add your own style and accessories if you think of any.

Mary

To dress like Mary the Mother of Jesus is not difficult you just need to have certain items. First dress in a white dress or a white night gown. Then take a blue hooded bathrobe and put that on over the dress (Blue is the color most depicted in pictures of Mary and it will make you easily recognizable). Then take a brown strip of fabric and tie that around your waist.
I definitly like this costume and i think it is very easy and managable.

Angel
Now to be an Angel you can either dress in white and pink or pure white. I think an Angel is more pure white so thats what I am going with. First you need to get a white dress or night gown white tights and white ballet slippers. This will be your Angel outfit. Next we need to make the wings. All you need is a pair of white panty hose, thin wire, and duct tape. First arrange the wire into a figure 8 whatever size you want. Both sides of the 8 will be a wing. Duct tape any stray wire so it wont be sticking out and duct tape the middle together. Then you can start shaping the wings anyway you like, after that you can spread the panty hose over the wings, 1 leg for each wing. Tuck in the excess hose at the middle. After you have all of that done you can decorate your wings with glitter and things like that. To attach the wings take a silver or gold sash and tie the sash around the middle of the wings to around your wast. The last thing you will need is a halo. For the halo you can take the same wire you used for the wings and make it twice as long as the actual halo, then you take the extra length section and twist it around the regular one so its a twist then place it on your head and BAM beautiful Haloness ;) (look I just made up a word haha Haloness).

My Christmas Movie List~ Kari Willinger

This year was a great year for movies. I love most of what came out and am asking for them in my Christmas list, and yes im serious im 17 and I still have a Christmas list ;). The movies on my list are the movies I think were great. They had a good plot, little sexuality, and minor cursing if any. These movies can be for many age groups because yes a few of them are cartoons :). So, if your looking for more items to include in your list then here are a few items to help out.
The Eagle
In 120 A.D. Rome sends the Ninth Legion into the unconquered land of Northern Britian. This Legion full of 5,000 warriors and 1 commander disappears, never to be heard from again. The Romans lost this battle, but not only did they the Legion shame themselves with that but they also lost The Golden Eagle. The Golden Eagle was the Legions Standard and what represented everything Rome stood for. After this unhonorable incident the Romans built Hadrians wall. A wall to seperate them from the barbarians of the woods and overall to the edge of their civilization.
20 Years later Rome is still scarred because of such a terrible loss but one commander is scarred worse than anyone else. Marcus Aquila (Channing Tatum) is the son of the commander that lost The Golden Eagle and the 5,000 men. After Commander Marcus gets injured in battle he decideds to go on a seemingly suicidal quest in search for the lost Golden Eagle. Join this dangerous journey for Honor and a priceless treasure.
The Eagle is Pg-13, there is one part where you see Marcus wake up with no shirt and only what looks like a loin clothe on, but this is the extent of sex/nudity. The cursing in this film is minor with 1 sh--h---, d---, a--, bloody, and 2 uses of the word p---. This movie was very good and i think should recieve a 4/5.
I am Number Four
Now I know there has to be at least of few of you who know what it feels like to be the new kid. It sucks right? Going to a new school and having to meet new people and make new friends is a realy hard thing to do. Well for a guy named Number four (Alex Pettyfer|) its harder and stranger than ever. Number four is from a planet named Lorien. He came to Earth after his home planet was destroyed by the Magadorians. Now every few weeks or so Number four has to move to different states and towns around the world. He has to change his name and meet many new people, all so the Magadorians don't succeed in finishing there job with him and the other 8 survivors of Lorian. The movie starts off with the killing of one of the Numbers, then you see Number four (with a fake name and life) riding a jetski with friends. Later at night he goes off to hang with a girl when his leg starts glowing. You find out later this means a Number has died and this time it was Number three, which means Number one, Number two, and Number three are officially dead and Number four is next.
This leads to Number four moving again to a town named Paradise, Ohio. Number four changes his name to John Smith (not obvious at all haha) and enrolls himself into highschool. There he meets a girl he falls in love with. Paradise starts to feel like home to..uh Number four..John? and he finds he wants to stay. Too bad the Magadorians are determined to find and kill him. John doesnt have long until they find him but will he survive? or will the Magadorians succeed? Guess you better watch and find out ;)
This movie was rated PG-13, you see Number four with his shirt off a few times, there are a number of bikini clad woman about and later in the movie a girl (Number six) is wearing a see through shirt where you can see her bra. There are about 10 s--- words and a handful of the words a--, b----, and h---. Gods name is misused a few times. Because of the profanity I rate this 3/5 but the movie is really good and if you have a cuss box I would definitly reccomend this movie.
Soul Surfer
I already reviewed this movie for you (and a couple others that are on this list) but this movie I picked particularly because of how powerful and amazing this movie was to me. It really spoke to me and showed me how great or God is
Bethany Hamilton (AnnaSophia Robb from 'Bridge to Terabithia') is a greatly gifted teenage surfer, with the dream of becoming a pro. She lives an amazing life, surfing all day, everyday, until her world suddenly changes like never before. A shark attack leaves her without her left arm. She shows amazing courage in returning to the water and continuing to surf. Unfortunately, she is unable to do well because of the loss of her arm. She quits surfing and joins her Youth ministry leader Sarah Hill (Carrie Underwood) in a missions trip to Thailand. There, she learns of how she can inspire people . She understands that the loss of her arm can also be taken as a gift and decides to use that gift.
This movie is PG. There is no sex or nudity in the film, though girls are wearing bikinis throughout the movie. Bethany's parents, Tom Hamilton (Dennis Quaid) and Cheri Hamilton (Helen Hunt) kiss playfully in the movie, but nothing remotely graphic. I think this is a great movie and I hope you do too :) I give it a 5/5
Thor
Created by Marvel Comics comes a very interesting and entertaining movie. When Thor (Chris Hemsworth from 'Star Trek'), a Warrior and the future King of Asgard (the fantasy realm), is banned from Asgard by his father because of his arrogance and sent to Earth. Thor's world changes. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), a scientist, witnesses his decision and seeks out answers from him. Back in Asgard, Thor's brother, Loki, takes over the throne and slowly starts corrupting Asgard. Fellow Warriors of Thor's find a way to warn Thor by heading to earth. Thor, learning about love and honor on Earth, sets out to help his fellow Warriors in saving Asgard and Earth while destroying the only way back to Earth and the woman he loves.

This movie was rated a PG-13. It has light kissing, nothing too bad. We also see Thor shirtless in one scene. There is light profanity, and only the words d*** and a** are used once along with h*** is used four times. I recommend this movie. I thought it was amazing. I have definitly asked for this for christmas, it was one of the first things I included on my list! I love this movie. I give it a 5/5 for a good plot and little to no cursing.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow: Part 2
Now I know that some people do not like the Harry Potter movies because of their beliefs and I just want to make it clear I am in no way, shape, or form trying to change what you believe. To me though, the Harry Potter movies are good. I love them and have even read the books.
In this last movie of the Harry Potter series, Harry comes face to face with Lord Voldemort. This movie is full of danger, love, and sacrifice as Harry trys to save the people he loves and his home in Hogwarts. This movie takes Harry and his friends Ron and Hermione through underground railroads and a tussle with a dragon. Through a huge room in Hogwarts than anything could become lost in, and through a journey to self discovery and sacrifice. Will good ultimately triumph or will Lord Voldemort win in killing "The boy who lives"? If you like these movies or were not sure about them I think you should watch them (but only if you want to, honestly no pressure) I think they were great.
This movie was rated PG-13 and only has light kissing included. There is one B---- word and a few uses of H---, sometimes with the word bloody infront of it. I loved this movie and give it a 4/5.

Gnomeo & Juliet
Now before you all go "WHAT! shes writing a review on a movie about gnomes, how childish" I will have all of you know this movie is actually kind of funny. It has a good few laughs in it and it is quite cute. So, I would hope all of you already know what Romeo and Juliet is about but if not let me tell you. Romeo and Juliet is about two families who hate each and have a huge feud but a guy and a girl from those two families fall in love and in the end they basically die for the loss of the other. So, this is basically what Gnomeo and Juliet is about just with Gnomes instead of people. The only thing is this cute little movie with its gnome people couldn't end in tragedy could it? Guess the only way your going to find out is if you actually watch the movie.
The movie was rated G, and the only thing in this movie is there is a Dolly Parton like Gnome with tight jeans and a cleavage baring top, a guy gnome is seen wearing a Borat like swimsuit, and Gnomeo and Juliet eventually get too kiss but this is all with Gnomes so its really not bad. There is no cursing in this movie at all. I give it a 3.5/5.

The Smurfs
I love the Smurfs, I think they are just adorable and anyone who says differently shame on you, haha im just kidding..but seriously :). The smurfs where always my favorite cartoon and what I loved to watch so when they decided to make a movie I was so excited so I am definitly asking for it for Christmas.
For those of you who dont know who the Smurfs are (tsk! tsk!) let me fill you in. The Smufs are little blue people from the middle ages. There they have this cute little village where they all live. Until one day the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Zaria, Night of the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian) runs the Smurfs into the woods and out of their village. The Smurfs go into a portal in the woods and magically find themselves falling through the portal and landing in the middle of Central Park, New York. The Smurfs have to hurry and find a way back to their village before Gargamel gets them. Watch the Smurfs and their daring adventure. The Smurfs Movie is rated PG there is nothing very bad in this movie but the Smurfs kind of change cuss words like an example is: "Son of a smurf" or "oh my Smurf". Its not really bad I thought I should just warn you but other than that there is no cursing. There is some sexual stuff included in the Smurfs but nothing too bad, Smurfette stands on an airvent and it blows her dress up and she says "that breeze feels good on my enchanted forest" and there is one scene when a Smurf says thanks for holding my hand and another Smurf replies with "Thats not my hand". Overall the movie is pretty clean and I really liked it. I give it a 4/5.

Puss in Boots
Okay call me a nerd if you want but I absolutely adore Puss in Boots. Hes just so fluffy and cute (even tho I know hes not real haha). Puss in Boots is about Puss's past and how he came to be who he is today. It talks about how he was an orphan that made friends with an egg named Humpty and how that friend shared his same dreams. Then it went through Humptys pure betrayal of the feline and the reason Puss is now a maverick wandering about. Soon Puss meets his equal..in Kitty Softpaws. Puss soon falls in love with Kitty, but wait! Kitty Softpaws is already in cohorts with Humpty Alexander Dumpty! *Gasp from the audience*.
This movie was rated PG, There is one scene were Puss is seen buckling his sword belt and it is obvious he just slept with a girl cat. He makes a point for everyone to know his reputation as a lover and being called frisky two times. There is one gasp of "Oh my G--" I give this movie a 4/5.
Anyways this is my Christmas list I hope you enjoyed and will think of using a few of these yourself :)

Johnny English Reborn

For everyone who has never seen the Johnny English movies, you are seriously missing out. These movies are hilarious and very good to watch.
In the new Johnny English movie Johnny English has to be hunted down because he fell of the grid. When the agencies find him they must, hopefully, acquire the highly unorthodox agents help in a case. Watch as Johnny English makes mistakes and disasters in this movie but also learn a few lessons along the way.
This movie is PG. It has no sex or nudity and very few crude references. The cussing in this movie is extremely minor with only 2 uses of the word h***. I give this movie a 4.5/5 :)
Did you know that Kari has two extremely annoying little sisters?! Her words not mine!

Footloose

Around twenty years ago, a great movie came to the theatres. This movie was about a city kid changing the minds and hearts of all the Country people. Well this movie was called Footloose and was recently remade. This new movie had somethings that I think made this movie better than the first. But along with the good things there were some bad things.
When City-boy Ren McCormack moves to a small town, he has alot ahead of him. Being the new-kid always sucks but being the new-kid in a town that bans Rock n' Roll and Dancing is even worse. Ren learns things about himself while working tirelessly to change this town. Will he suceed and bring back dancing or will he lose and be forced to forget his roots and everything he loves?
The remade Footloose was very good, it kept me entertained and wanting more. It sticked with the storyline of the first movie for the most part, only straying a little bit. Alot of the lines in the movie were the exact same lines as were in the first one. The main thing I liked more about this movie though, was the dancing. There was a more modernized style and sound to this movie that I greatly enjoyed. The dancing was insane and very cool. The part I wished was different was the acting. Whoever decided to pick professional dancers to act such crazy parts should have thought again. These people were amazing on the dance floor but when they were acting it just didn't play out right. Other than that the movie was great. I think if you watched it you would really enjoy it also.
This movie is PG-13. There is no sex though it is implied. There is a slew of cussing so a cussbox would really be helpful towards this movie. There is 20 S***, 10 A** and h***, D*** and B**** are used 4 or 5 times. There is one scene in the movie where Ren talks about having sex with two russian girls, this story is fake and a joke but he talks about it for a good three minutes. I give the move a 3/5

"Insidious" and "The Ward"

Since October is here I think its time for some scary movies. Personally, scary movies are my favorite type of movies, but it is so hard to find good, clean, scary movies. So, if your like me and want to watch a clean scary movie here is a good one.
The Ward is set in 1966 North Bend Oregon, with runaway Kristen (Amber Heard). When Kristen sets fire to a farmhouse and runs away the police start a search when the police find her they put her in North Bend Psychiatric Hospital where Kristen meets Dr. Gerald Stringer (Jarred Harris) and other inmates. Soon, Kristen starts to see the ghost of a girl, then this ghost starts abducting and murdering the other inmates one by one. Kristen trying to find answers looks through Dr. Springers folders and finds out the truth about this ghost, Alice Hudson (Mika Boorem). This movie is very scary and has a good plot. The movie is rated R for violence images. There is no sex or nudity in this movie and extremely little profanity. Overall this is a good scary movie because it is clean AND scary. I give The Ward a 4/5!
Insidious starts with a family who just moved into a house. They appear to be happy and healthy, until all of that changes. When the families older son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) falls into a coma, things start happening in the house. It appears the house is haunted and after Dalton. The family decides to move again, but the haunting come with them. The mother, Renai Lambert, (Rose Byrne) decides to try everything and hires a lady who specializes in the paranormal. We find out that the house is not haunted, but Dalton is and that he is not in a coma, but lost in another dimension called The Further. The father, Josh Lambert, (Patrick Wilson) must follow his son into The Further in order to save him from the evil beings on the other side. I will not go into the ending for chances of ruining the movie for you, I guess your just going to have to watch it to find out for yourself ;)
There are two sides to Insidious. The good side and the bad side, the good side is that is movie was definitely scary. If all your looking for is some good scares, then this is definitely your movie. The bad side however, is that the plot was not good. It was extremely fictional (and yes i know that is what scary movies are about) to a point of stupidity. I, a person that LOVES scary movies, did not like this one. I laughed my way through the plot, but I admit, the scares were really good. I was on the edge of my seat in terror whenever a suspense scare was coming up. The profanity in this movie is better than some but still not great. There are 2 F-bombs (one is written down and briefly seen on paper), there are about a dozen other cuss words that are either written down or said. There is no sex or nudity only light kissing throughout the movie. I rate this move a 2/5.
Go get scared.... BOO!

Courageous~ A Review by Kari Willinger

Couragous is a movie meant to change the way Fathers think about their children and the way their children think about their Fathers. It is meant to change hearts and minds with the help of God. I thought a movie like this would be a good addition to this months issue.

This movie is about a group of law enforcement officers who see and experience danger everyday but when danger and struggles hit close to home they have to figure out a completely different way of dealing with it. There is drama, action, humor, and struggles in this movie for God.

I suggest this movie to everyone. Your could bring it home or take your parents to go see it for a family movie night. I believe it is a great movie just because of the message it poses to everyone. The movie is rated PG-13 there is no sex, nudity, or profanity in this movie. I give the move a 4/5

Cowboys and Aliens~ Kari Willinger

When I first heard that a movie called "Cowboys & Aliens" was coming out, I completely rejected the idea. I mean, come on! "Cowboys & Aliens"? Really? They couldn't come up with a better name? The good thing is, I don't usually judge a book by its cover, so I decided to watch "Cowboys & Aliens" and, to my great suprise, I really enjoyed it.
The story begins in 1875, in the Arizona Territory. The Old West. When a stranger (Daniel Craig who plays James Bond in Casino Royal) wanders into a very unfriendly town. The town, Absolution, is run by the no-nonsense colonel, Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford- Indiana Jones movies). The town lives in fear and desolation and immediately rejects the stranger that stumbles into their territory. Little do they know, that very stranger is exactly what they need in order to fight off the Aliens that have come to earth. The stranger, though, has no idea about his past or who he is. Watch the story unfold and the problems resolve in this action-western movie.
I give this movie a 4/5, in my personal preference (and yes, I took off points for the name, because, I mean, you would think the people that dream this stuff up could dream up a more interesting name!) It was a great movie, BUT there is some stuff I wasn't very happy about. In one scene, we see a woman's bare back, as she is, supposedly, naked. In another scene, a woman is apparently a prostitute and people call her a whore. The profanity is not great. There is around 10-20 cuss words, but no F-bombs.
If you want to watch this movie but do not like cussing I suggest a TVG they can be very helpful.

Captain America~ Kari Willinger

After I saw this movie, I was kind of disappointed, but now when I think back, I have to admit, it was a very interesting and, altogether, a great movie.

The movie starts out in 1942. America is just now entering World War II. Steve Rodgers (Chris Evens- The Human Torch in Fantastic Four) is a sick, skinny reject that wants to join the army, but they will not allow him. He continues to try to get into the army and finally succeeds at becoming a soldier. When, in multiple situations, Steve proves his courageousness, thoughtfulness, and his wits, he is chosen for a secret program by Dr. Erksine (Stanley Tucci) called the Rebirth Program. This is where his body is enhanced to maximum potential. Immediately afterwards, Dr. Erksine is murdered and Steve Rodgers is left, a unique human being, to himself since the army is not sure what to do with him. Steve, being the man he is, whats to do anything he can to help. He decides to become a misused mascot called Captain America. Later on, he commits an act of pure courage and stupidity when he goes, by himself, to save hostages from the Nazi camp. He does succeeds and earns his right to the title, Captain America. The movie ends off with a twist and leaves you wanting more.
This movie was rated PG-13. There is no sex/nudity, only light kissing once or twice. The profanity in this movie is minor. There are three a** words, two or three d*** words, 6 h***, and one use of b****.

I would rate this move a 4.5/5. It was good, but the I believe they could have left the cussing out :)

Prom~ A Movie Review by Kari Willinger

Prom is about all of the drama surrounding that one night of dancing and fun. When high achieving, do-everything, class president Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden) loses all of her prom decorations in a terrible shed fire, everything takes a turn for the worst. Her boyfriend, sho had suggested carpooling to prom, backs out at the last minute; the school principal decides to create a new prom committee which includes, the badboy of the movie, a motorcycle riding, brooding, guy named Jesse (Thomas Mcdonell). Then there are all of the other couples and singles having troubles with their dates and every finding dates. Will the prom turn into a success. Or will it fail epically?
Prom was rated PG, There is no sex in Prom. The worst it gets is couples kiss. There are also short dresses and skirts throughout the film. H*** is said once and there are 6 misues of Gods name like 'OMG'.

The Smurfs~ Movie Review by Kari Willinger

Okay now, lets be honest. Who here does not like the Smurfs. I know we are all older and no longer watch them on T.V. (if you do, hoorah for you), but who doesn't just love those cute little blue people? I know I do, I am so excited for when they hit the theatres. I can remember coming home from school and racing to the living room so I don't miss the Smurfs. They were some of my favorite cartoons.
The Smurfs Movie is rated PG there is nothing bad in this movie (cussing, sex, etc.)
The Smurfs are...
Papa Smurf- Jonathan Winters
Smurfette- Katy Perry
Clumsy Smurf- Anton Yelchin
Gutsy Smurf- Alan Cumming (This Smurf was not in the Cartoon he was made especially for the Smurfs Movie)

Thor~ A Movie Review by Kari Willinger

Soul Surfer~ A Movie Review by Kari Willinger

When I went to see this movie with my mom, all i could think of was how much it showed me that God can take even the worst things and bring something good from it. This was such a great and moving story. It really impacted me and hopefully it will impact you too.

I think this is a great movie and I hope you do too :)

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader~ A Movie Review by Kari Willinger

Lucy and Edmund Pevensie return to narnia with their cousin eustace. They meet up with Prince Caspian and board the royal ship, the Dawn Treader. They face countless creatures along their journey to the edge of the world. Fighting dragons and saving lives, this is a clean and action dialed movie I think you will love.
