Waking up for school can be a drag, and a hassle! Often it helps knowing that you have a show stopping outfit waiting to be worn in the morning. Although most of you are done with back to school shopping, you don't need a legitimate excuse to do a little more shopping. One of my favorite stores is Wet Seal and so I visited their website to find a motivating outfit that would be comfortable to wear through classes.

This bright, screen printed graphic tee is very pretty and intricate and should be worn with a camisole or tank top to maintain modesty. It looks like regardless of your body type it will show cleavage because of the deeper v-neck. This shirt is only $9 so it will not break your budget!

These comfy pants are not jeans but they're not leggings either! They are a revolutionary fabric called moleton. Moleton fabric is stretchy and versatile but offers the coverage and modesty of jeans. They have five pockets just like jeans and can purchased for a decent price of $25.

In case you didn't notice, the graphic tee shirt shown above has swirls of silver running through the lower right side. These gladiator sandals are $17 and will bring out that stunning silver.

Stay ahead of the fashion curve this school year while being modest, money conscious and stylish! Have a great start to the school year!

Gap Store Review~ Renne Arnold

The GAP is a very popular store that carries mostly casual clothes and is very well known for their sweaters, jeans and flowey tank tops. I went to GAP looking for a semi-casual outfit, somthing you would wear to a picnic or barbeque,  under $100.

 

 

First, I found this adorable striped tank top that is not only cute but also modest as it features thicker straps and has a higher neckline. This tanktop is $22.95.

 

 

I love these shorts becasue they will keep you cool in hot temperatures but they are not revealing or inappropriate. They are made out of canvas so they are very durable and will last a long time which is a good thing becasue they cost $40. These shorts have a very good size range, they are available in 00-20 and GAP also has petite and tall sizes.

 

 

This outfit will look good with just any old rubber orange flip flops but if you want  something a little more upscale, these bright leather flip flops would be a perfect addition. They are $25 and will last a lot longer then plain rubber flip flops.

 

GAP  has a lot of great options for teenage girls. They are a more conservative store so they don't have any clothes that made me cringe. Their clothes are more expensive but they are very high quality so they are worth it if you are willing to pay the price. I highly recommend this store and highly suggest that you check it out.

 

This entire outfit came out to be $88 which is a lor for one outfit but thankfully, all of these pieces can be worn with a lot of other clothes you already own.

 

 

Forever21 Store Review~ Mikayla McMahen

For this store review I chose forever 21, I love this store for many reasons! Number one, no matter what style of clothes you like you're pretty sure to find something here you'll like, they have everything from more vintage styles to rocker chic. number two, most of the clothes are modest and affordable! Now I'm not saying that all of the clothes are modest, but they do have a very large selection :)

When I saw the price of this shirt I literally had to do a double take! This shirt is an incredibly low price of $7.80. I find it quite adorable:) An eye popping blue with ruffles give it a nice airy look for summer.

Jean shorts are a great piece to have in your summer wardrobe! They go with practically everything and I find them to be quite comfortable. These are more fitted to balance out the loose airy shirt. These shorts total at $17.50

I love hats! floppy hats, cowgirl hats, baseball caps, there are so many to choose from! One of my personal favorites would have to be the fedora :) This fedora wold be great for a hot, humid, summer day when your hair can't decide what it wants to do. Since it's a straw fedora it would be nice and light on your head, while the accent strips around the band are perfect for spicing up an outfit! It's also only $10.80

I didn't want a whole lot of attention drawn to the shoes, but I didnt want them to be completely plain either so when I saw these flats, they fit the bill exactly! With the cute bow and peephole at the toe they are the perfect shoe for this out fit. These shoes cost $16.80 


The total for this adorable outfit is, drum roll please.......... $52.90!

Hot Topic~ Store Review by Renee Arnold

Hot Topic is a very popular clothing store for teenagers who are interested in punk rock and Gothic inspired clothing. Their most popular products are their licensed t-shirts, which feature many bands, movie studios, and pop culture icons. A big chunk of their revenue is also generated from accessories like sunglasses, body jewelry, and makeup. I visited their website to see what their clothes were like and to search for a cute spring outfit for a reasonable price.

Right off the bat, I noticed Hot Topic's suggestive advertising featuring bikinis, short shorts, and midriff-baring crop tops. Browsing through their clothing categories I black, black, and more black. There was not a lot of casual, spring clothing advertised. Also, a lot of their graphic t-shirts featured music artists with questionable lyrics, and some shirts even featured explicit words and violent sayings.

I couldn't find any full outfits here. I was rather desperate to find at least part of an outfit that was my style, but I honestly couldn't find anything!

Browsing the Hot Topic website was frustrating for me because I can usually always find something I like. For the first time ever, I have to say that in my efforts to review a store, I could not put an outfit together.

American Eagle Store Review~ Renee Arnold

American Eagle is one of the most popular stores for teenagers. There is an American Eagle in almost every mall and you see adds for their jeans and graphic tops in a lot of popular catalogs. With Christmas coming up, I went on their website in search for a stunning Christmas dress and accessories.

As soon a I saw this dress I fell in love with it! The unique plum color and embellishment make it stand out from your standard little black party dress or red shimmery holiday dress. This dress is a great modest lengh and it covers cleavage. I will show you a jacket to go with it that makes it more modest and will keep you warm in the chilly winter weather. This dress is advertised as $60, but American Eagle usually has sales and coupons so you can get a great discount.

This tweed blazer would look very classy and put together on top of the plum dress. It makes the dress more modest and adds a professional look to the dress. As you can tell, American Eagle is not the place to go if you are on a strict budget this year, this tweed blazer is $80.

These platinum gray flats are the perfect accent to the dress. They are simple yet fancy. they compliment the dress and match really well with the blazer. These flats are advertised for $30. I have added the picture of the black ones so that you can get a better look. Sorry the picture of the gray ones is not bigger.

As for the store in general, they have really cute graphic long sleeve shirts that look cute paired with their famous jean collection. You can find every style of jeans at American Eagle and they fit really well and they are a great quality so they don't strech or fade. They always have a few dresses in stock but not a huge selection.

 

 On their website and in stores, they have an extensive clearance section with great markdowns. You can even find tops for $10 that were usually $25! They have fairly modest merchandise compared to a lot of teenage stores, a lot of their more revealing tops are advertised with cami's and their dresses are reasonably long.

Rue21 Store Review~ Renee Arnold

Rue 21 is a sensational store if you are searching for great deals on stylish clothes. They have everything from tops, shirts, jeans, shoes and even beauty products! I visited their web site to look for an adorable fall outfit that would be simple and classy.

This versatile striped sweater has very soft and pretty colors and will work well with many things you already own! I love how the sleeves slouch at the wrists instead of just being flat. I think this adds a special flare to the sweater. This sweater is available for $20.

Bootcut jeans are the perfect option for school because they are very flattering and they don't restrict moving like tight skinny jeans do. These flap pocket jeans are $20 and have very detailed stitching on the sides that make them stand out from other jeans on the market.

I fell in love with these heels the first second I saw them! I adore how the bootie shape with the peep toe and the bow adds a very unique accent. These shoes are $30 and will complement the gray and pink sweater perfectly!

 

Because of the intricate shoes and basic sweater, I don't think this ensemble needs any help from jewelry but Rue 21 has plenty of affordable options ranging from $5-$10.

As far as modesty in the store, I was impressed until I came to the lounge wear. Their tops are generally modest although there are some stomach and midriff revealing ones advertised on the models. No jeggings or leggings as pants that I could see, which made me happy because that is such a popular trend right now and honestly, I don't find it flattering or modest.

 

The biggest problems I saw were the skirts and sleepwear/underwear. The skirts were very short and tight and the underwear/sleepwear was very inappropriate. I do not want a pair of underwear that states "Boys will the Toys" Ya, no thanks. And do pre-teen girls really need more of an ego boost with sweaters that say "I'm kind of a big deal" and "No paparazzi please?" I don't think so!

Although you might find some good jeans and pretty tops there, don't go in search for skirts or dorm wear, unless you want "I love french kissing" written across your butt.

H & M Store Review~ Renee Arnold

H&M is a very popular store with affordable clothes that are perfect for crisp fall days. I visited their website in search of a casual outfit under $75!

This beautiful flared jersey top is

perfect for fall becasue it is loose and

flowey yet has 3/4 sleeves to give

you more coverage then a tee-shirt.

Like the model, you can wear a white

tank top underneath it if it feels more

comfortable, but it looks like it would

still be modest without the tank top.

This top can be bought for $18.

These fashion forward skinny jeans will

look stunning with the top above.

These jeans should be modest

depending on how they fit on you.

They have a flattering slim fit all

through and have a convenient

5 pockets. These jeans are for sale

for only $30!

                              







These imitation suade ballet flats

will perfectly compliment the pink

in the jersey but will stand out

becausee they are unique and

decorated with a matching knot on

top. They are available in sizes 5-10

and can be bought for $25.

                   very nicely with a lot of things you

                   already have in your closet. They

                    are assorted so you can have a

                   new one every day of the week!

                   They are very affordable at only

                     $6 for the whole pack!

This entire outfit rounded out to be about $79. If you cut the rings out, it will meet the budget but I do think the rings add a very cute touch. So, good luck back at school and remember to pray about your standards and listen to your parents opinions too!

Down East Basics~ Store Review by Madeline Hunt

I love Down East Basics! They are a modest clothing company- that is super cute! I wish I could buy up the whole store. Feminine styles and unexpected touches of extra beauty make every item unique. Think Anthropoligie yet way cheaper! This outfit is perfect for going out for dinner, going to church or even hanging with your friends!

I love this shirt. It's green color blends perfectly with that of the skirt. The flower detailing on the side adds an extra touch without overpowering the skirt. A basic v-neck is a great addition to your closet! You will probably need to wear a tank top with this top to keep it modest and cute! You can pick it up for $24.99.

 

Okay, I'm a skirt girl! You will probably find me in a skirt most of the time in the summer! I love this one though- it's a print that's not so crazy, but perfect for the girl who wants to look feminine and beautiful! I wish I could talk myself into buying, but my budget does not allow it. So you buy it and wear it and I will be satisfied that someone got to wear the cute skirt. Okay? This pretty addition to your closet will cost you $32.99

A flat sandal is a must for the girl who wants to be comfortable yet cute. I love the little details on this pair. The style will most likely be in next year to and $16.99 is a great price for shoes! Since Down East Basics does not carry shoes, I found this pair from Payless Shoe Source.

I would add some pretty dangle earrings and a simple necklace to balance out the outfit. Or if you don't have your ears pierced you could wear a cute flower headband!

Please don't use this post or my words to justify wearing something that goes against your modesty standards or the ones your parents have set in place! The clothes from Down East Basics may or may not be modest on you depending on your body type.

Wet Seal Store Review~ By Renee Arnold

Wet Seal is an amazing store where you can find all kinds of clothes at a very reasonable price. Out of the variety they have, I decided to pick out an outfit ideal for a hot summer day hanging out with friends.

This asymmetric shirt has all the makings of your favorite summer top! It would look stunning with shorts and sandals or even with jeans and wedges for a fancier event. Any way you wear it, this shirt will stand out! If you would feel more comfortable or if a school dress code applies, you may want to buy a tank top to go under it, look for something pink or maybe even white if you go with that idea.

Price Tag $19.50

With their 7.5 inch inseam, this shorts are very modest and go perfectly with our top. These shorts are a very unique color and because of their detailing, they are not like most bermuda shorts that you already have in your closet.

Price Tag $24.80

These patent leather flip flops are durable and comfier then average rubber flip flops. They are available in more than one color so go with white if you're looking for versatility or pink if you want the ideal color for this specific outfit. Either way, these shoes will be the perfect choice for a casual day.

Price Tag $5.80

Normally a necklace or a bracelet is good to finish off an ensemble but since the shirt is so beautiful it doesn't need any help from jewelry to enhance it. Also, since this is a casual outfit, jewelry usually gets in the way and is unnecessary.

The final price is $50.10 for the entire outfit!

Wet Seal has a great selection of clothes, not all modest, although they have some great shirts, some are tight and revealing. Wet Seal has a variety of bermuda shorts and Capri's that won't disappoint! They do however have some shorter shorts that might be too short on some body types. They don't have true one-pieces or tankini's but they do have monokini's and full coverage bikini's so it just depends on what you are comfortable with through Jesus!

As always, remember to pray about your standards and stand firm to what you believe!

Old Navy~ A Store Review by Madeline Hunt

Old Navy is a fun store that has mostly modest clothing- no store is completely modest and things look different on individual people so make sure that you follow your modesty standards when shopping at any store.

 

This adorable light blue boat neck is modest and classy. The wide angle of the neckline is so cute and the three quarter length sleeves are fabulous - they balance the top perfectly. The best part is you can get it in like 15 colors the prices range from $15 and down. This color is $3.97- What a steel!

 

These jeans are so cute. I love the sparkly embellishment on the pockets. The color is very versatile and classic, with slight fading these jeans are perfect! They are not a super low rise either! They are only $24.97! When do you find cute jeans this cheep?

 

I love these earrings, if I was not currently broke I would buy them in a heartbeat! I love the shape and texture! They are the perfect addition to this outfit. You can grab them for $8.50

 

The print of this cute scarf dresses up this other wise simple outfit. The color is great! It would also be a versatile piece that would go great with allot of other tops. What a cute scarf for only $12.50

 

These light blue sneakers are so cute and they go great with the top! A perfect way to look cute and still be comfortable. You can get comfort and cuteness for only $16.97. For a cute pair of sneakers what a great deal!!

As for the store in general, they have some modest clothes and some not. As for the modest, their jeans look perfect and their tops are adorable, most of them can be made modest with a cami underneath. As fot the immodest, their tanks and cami's shouldn't be worn alone but mose of them would look fine with another tank underneath. Don't come to pacsun looking for swimwear becasue all I saw were string bikini's. And lastly their dresses where definetly too short, I think a few would pass as longer shirts!

If you do some searching though, you will be able to find some really cute clothes there!

Delia~ A Store Review by Madeline Hunt

Delias is a fabulously amazing store!! Most of their clothes are really cute and totally wearable! I went a tiny bit over 100 dollars for this outfit, but if you already have some of the basics, it will cost you much less!

This jumper/dress is SO cute! My sister just bought it the other day and it looks even better in person then online! I chose to put a black long sleeved tee under it for this outfit but if you’re bold you could wear with a bright red or other brightly colored shirt and it would look just as fabulous! It’s totally worth the price of $39.50

  This basic black tee is great! The scoop neckline isn’t too low, but if it goes a little low than expected, we advise you to wear an undershirt with it. This tee would be a great investment if you don’t have a basic black tee. The price is amazing to at only $19.50

 

 Leggings with this dress is a must if you don’t want to freeze in cold weather also this dress is a few inches above the knee, but my sister got a size up so it would be longer but she wears leggings anyway! These great basic leggings are available for $16.50

 

These boots are so fabulous! I love everything about them, from the heel to the cute bow! This makes me want to run to Payless Shoe Source right now and buy them! Boots really are important to wear with this out. Fit flats don’t really cut it, especially if you’re trying to stay warm! You can find them at Payless Shoe Source for the price of $39.99

All in all, Charlotte Russe has some really cute, affordable clothes. Aside from some iffy tops that can be made modest with trendy jackets and some tight leggings and short bottoms including skirts and shorts, this store gets a great rating! There are some wonderful modest pieces to be found at Charlotte Russe it may just take some searching!

Maurice's is an affordable, trendy, cute, fabulous store! They offer a wide variety of clothing, which is cute and AFFORDABLE!!! I love how they have jeans that don’t look like they are painted on you can they don’t have many immodest shirts. I found this adorable outfit all for only $106 dollars for a pair of jeans, a shirt, a cardigan, a necklace and earring set and a pair of cute flats.

I love these dark wash boot cut jeans. The fading is perfect, the pocket detailing is darling. The best part is they only cost $29.00!!!!

I went with basic black for this top because it paired nicely with the gray cardigan and is essential for every girl’s closet. I like that this top is fitted and has a pretty modest neckline though it may depend on the person wearing it. This top is steel you can grab it for only $16.00

This cozy gray cardigan doesn’t only work with jeans and a shirt but would look awesome layered over a girly dress or with a skirt. The gray complements the black in the shirt but doesn’t overpower it. You can pick it up for $34.00 it’s the most expensive piece in this outfit but is totally worth the money!

These sweet black flats with darling feminine bows will become one of your go to pairs of shoes. The inside lining is an adorable paisley print, while the outside is made of suede. Perfect price for the perfect shoes is $22.00

This sweet Necklace and earring set is like the cherry on top that ties this whole outfit together. The flower pendant brings summer right into fall. You will reach for this necklace again and again, its works so well to dress up a plain tee. You can snap this set up for $14.00 dollars.
